One major difference is that the new chairlift ride offers 4-person seating, while the former attraction only had 2-person seating! This means that you can now enjoy the beautiful sights of the Smokies with more of your family and friends, and the doubled capacity allows for shorter queue times! The Sky Village Express is also the starting point for Ober’s new Cloud Catcher Zipline Experience, and a new observation deck has been built for views like never before!
The Same Record-Breaking Views
Another one of the top things to know about the new Sky Village Express Chairlift ride at Ober Mountains is that it features record-breaking views! The attraction provides an impressive 779-foot rise in elevation above the mountaintop park and, at 3019 feet in length, it is the longest chairlift of its kind in the United States! The smooth ride takes you to a peak of 3455 feet above sea level, which is more than 1650 feet higher than any other chairlift in Gatlinburg or the entire state of Tennessee!
