The newest and most exciting attraction in the Smoky Mountains is now open! The Moonshine Mountain Coaster is one of a few mountain coasters in the United States that has been skyrocketing in popularity over the past year. It is created by Weigan, a German manufacturer of the ride who builds high-thrill rides while taking extreme precautions for safety in every coaster they design. The ride begins by pulling your individual sled up the mountain, which in itself is a peaceful ride surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. Once at the top, the cable releases and you begin your ride down the mountain letting gravity do the work. You can choose to coast easily down the mountain while using the handbrake and enjoying the views, or you can choose to go faster at speeds close to 40mph for a thrilling ride of twists, turns, and drops! Or you can simply ride twice and enjoy both!

Moonshine Mountain Coaster Location

The Moonshine Mountain Coaster attraction is located at traffic light #2 on the parkway in Gatlinburg, TN. If you go through Pigeon Forge and up to Gatlinburg, the attraction will be on your left. There is free parking available, which is fantastic as there aren’t many places to park for free in Gatlinburg to enjoy an attraction! If you want to plug the address into a GPS, the address is 306 Parkway, Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Moonshine Mountain Coaster Hours of Operation

The Gatlinburg coaster plans to operate rain or shine, all throughout the year. This is one of the few attractions in Gatlinburg that plans to be open year-round, which means this will be one of the few things to do during Winterfest in January and February when most attractions (other than Ober Gatlinburg) close down for the colder weather. The coaster even features lights, which means it is open at night as well!
