What to Expect at the Ober Mountain Zipline
The Cloud Catcher Zipline is a new addition to Ober Mountain that features the highest starting point of any zipline in the Smoky Mountains! To get there, you can ride the chairlift, take the Ober Aerial Tram, or drive yourself to the adventure park. At the top, you’ll arrive at the peak of Mount Harrison which is 3,400 feet in elevation. The zipline itself is 3,200 feet long and 300 feet off the ground with 3 parallel lines, meaning you can zip alongside your family and friends! This Gatlinburg ziplining tour features a fully automated braking system, and Ober Mountain also has all the safety equipment you need, such as helmets. This high-flying activity will be a memorable experience for visitors of all ages, even if you’ve never done a zipline experience before!
Cloud Catcher Restrictions & Requirements
Riders for the Ober Mountain zipline must be between 80 and 250 pounds. When going on the Cloud Catcher Zipline, make sure to wear clothes that will allow you to move freely. Long pants with a T-shirt is a great choice. It is also important to wear sturdy, close-toed shoes, as sandals may fall off during the ride. Secure long hair and remove loose jewelry as well! When planning your visit, keep in mind that the zipline is not included with the Ober Adventure Wristband, so you’ll need to book this experience separately.
More Thrilling Activities at Ober Mountain in Gatlinburg
If you want to keep the excitement going after you get off the zipline at Ober Mountain, there are more thrilling activities to experience! For example, take a ride on the Tennessee Flyer mountain coaster. After a leisurely ride to the top, you’ll take the car down the 2,750 track. It has turns, dips, and more! While this used to be included in the Adventure Wristband, beginning May 23, 2025, it will be considered an extra add-on experience. Some activities for thrill seekers that are included with your wristband are the alpine slide and the rock climbing wall! Once strapped into a safety harness, you can climb up the 35-foot wall.
Want some more laid-back activity options? Don’t worry, Ober Mountain offers plenty of other fun things to do, like exploring the Wildlife Habitat. There are owls, river otters, and bears. You can also see birds flying around in Ober Mountain’s enclosed aviary! No matter what activities you choose, all the fun is sure to work up an appetite. You won’t have to go far for delicious food.
