6 Spring Events in Gatlinburg You Don’t Want to Miss
With winter melting away and everything starting to bloom, spring is a beautiful time to visit Gatlinburg! Not only can you start to enjoy the warmer weather and great outdoors; there are also plenty of fun things to do that only happen during this time of year! From craft shows to seasonal blooms, there is so much to enjoy when spring hits the Smokies. Check out these 6 spring events in Gatlinburg you won’t want to miss:
1. Easter Sunrise Service at Ober Mountain
Every year, Ober Mountain puts on a special sunrise service for Easter. Anyone is welcome to attend the event, and it typically starts around 6:30 am. As the service continues, the sun will rise over the horizon while people listen to the sermon. Complimentary Aerial Tram rides to the top of Ober Mountain are available, but complimentary parking is also available if you would rather drive to the resort. The Market in Ober’s mall opens for coffee, hot chocolate, and pastries.
2. Easter Arts & Craft Show
Another spring event in Gatlinburg you won’t want to miss is the Easter Arts & Crafts Show that is hosted by the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community. Artists and craftsmen bring their handmade gifts to the Gatlinburg Convention Center where the public can purchase them. You’ll find jewelry, quilts, candles, soap, and so much more on display at this event. It always takes place the weekend before Easter Sunday.
3. Hands on Gatlinburg
The Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community also hosts Hands on Gatlinburg. Dozens of studios from this community offer 30 different workshops to teach the public how to do their craft. People can learn techniques and a whole new hobby from these experts, and some of the workshops include basket weaving, candle making, painting, and chair seat weaving. You can be a novice or an expert and learn a thing or two! In 2023, Hands on Gatlinburg takes place from May 5 to May 7.
4. Blooms and Tunes at Anakeesta
When spring rolls around, you can catch one of the most popular events in Gatlinburg at Anakeesta: Blooms and Tunes. Local artists are featured through sculptures all throughout the adventure park, with towering designs that feel whimsical. Chefs and mixologists have created seasonal menus that pair perfectly with spring, and you’ll only be able to try the food and drinks during this event. People of all ages will also love seeing the new flowers bloom throughout Anakeesta, all while still enjoying their year round attractions! Blooms and Tunes runs from April 14 to May 29, 2023.
5. Smoky Mountain Sunrise
Have you always wanted to see the sun come up over the Smoky Mountains? Then you have to go to Smoky Mountain Sunrise at Gatlinburg SkyLift Park when you’re in town! Guests will get to ride to the SkyDeck on the SkyLift before sunrise and enjoy live music, a souvenir mug, donuts, and coffee. Only a limited number of people are able to purchase separate tickets for this event, so you’ll want to grab them while they’re available! Smoky Mountain Sunrise takes place every Wednesday from April 9, 2023 to May 10, 2023.
6. Music on the Mountain
Gatlinburg SkyLift Park isn’t just hosting one event in Gatlinburg this spring; they’re hosting two, at the same time! Music on the Mountain provides guests with live music on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6 pm to 9 pm from April 4, 2023 to May 25, 2023. Regular paying guests are able to enjoy the live entertainment with the purchase of their tickets of Gatlinburg SkyLift Park. So grab a drink from the SkyCenter and enjoy yourself at this spring event!
